The objective in Zombie Gunship is to target and destroy endless waves of zombies and protect human survivors as they make their way to the safe bunker. Zombie Gunship offers three types of weapons: a 25mm Gatling gun, a 40mm Bofors auto-cannon, and a 105mm Howitzer cannon, all of which are upgradeable to enhance damage radius, faster cooling time, faster reload, faster firing rate, and bullet speed. The player can complete objectives, earn ranks, and collect coins for killing zombies and saving humans to use for upgrades or bypassing objectives. The game ends once a zombie has breached the bunker or when the player reaches a maximum number of human casualties. A hundred coins are earned per human saved and 20 coins per zombie killed plus 2 coins per zombie bounty upgrade. There is no coin penalty for human casualties.
The 3D night vision display can be toggled between white and black hot modes during gameplay.
Every 75 humans rescued allows the player to activate the HSAS (Human Sequestration Advisory System) bonus game mode, also known as the “No Humans” game mode. The map will include all zombies and no humans.
